I think Merrickville, Perth, Winchester, Arnprior and Kars all do... Kars was a couple weeks ago, and so was Arnprior. I think Richmond might as well... but I'm not sure.
The WOW and Dwyer Hill shows are good as well if the Bronze is too much!

If bronze if too much I wouldn't necessarily go for some of the fairs. I went to watch the Merrickville fair last year, and def. wouldn't recommend it as a starter show or a fun show. Unless you go for the game classes. The morning classes w/t/c were jam packed full with 12 year olds against 17 year olds. There must have been 30+ in the ring and I did see a number of collisions that were more or less due to a lack of space.

That said it def. isn't a bad show, just not a show I would want to start out on. And it has game classes which aren't offered anywhere else so if you want to go for those, its a good choice.

Arnprior has not had a horse show for the last couple of years, since the organizer moved.

I am not sure that there would be one this year, however, check first.

Your mind before the race:
80m run
8 hurdles
34 steps
12 seconds
1 start line
1 finish line
1 gun shot
1 winner, the rest losers

Now try thinking about it when it is acually happening.

Didn't they have an outbreak there a few years ago where horses died? I think it was from horses drinking out of the water troughs. They tracked it back to a barn in Quebec where carriers of a disease were found and multiple horses had to be put down there as well. It may have been another fair but for some reason that rings a bell...

Merrickville fair is a fun fair I'll be showing it. I think it is in 2 weeks. The 9th perhaps? Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you don't mind a drive Kingston is the best fair by far in my mind. It's in a transformed hockey arena. A few people that qualify for the Royal go there to get use to the environment. Great prize money, set up and competition. I know they do over all points in Hunter when I got it (2007) the prize was a cooler and your name on the website. But I hear they have added jumper stuff and more prizes. Great show! If you have a spooky horse maybe not recommended though. The glass and plastic on the boards stirs even the quiet horses. Hunter O/F I think went up to 2ft9-3ft... Lots of little stuff though to.

I'm racing on a track without a horse. I'm bull fighting in a ring without the bull. Track and Wrestling is my life.

Merrickville fair has 3 over fences classes, and its cramped in the ring. I've shown there 2 years in a row, so it requires a small horse, or a slow horse. the flat classes are good though. Spencerville has a fair but there are no over fences classes. just flat classes with western classes and games. Perth Fair was always a good one, their classes were pretty good.

Horse- $5000
Bridle- $50

Hi, I'm new. You can check the list of Ontario fairs at http://www.ontariofairs.org/cm...ew=wrapper&Itemid=16
They don't all have horse shows but most of them have web sites where you can check.

when i went there 2 years ago the footing in the sand ring wasnt the best. they had lots of metal pieces and stuff from the demolition derby thing the day before and my horse ended up getting lame. and the parking was terrible! but then again that was 2 years ago so things have probably chnaged
