The Auction is this weekend Oct 10.
I've already signed up for the Lanark Therapeutic Ride so I can stay out of trouble on Saturday.

Your mind before the race:
80m run
8 hurdles
34 steps
12 seconds
1 start line
1 finish line
1 gun shot
1 winner, the rest losers

Now try thinking about it when it is acually happening.

I was gonna go to see what there was and to see if I could pick up some tack but I have a job interview at 10 so that cancelled my plans. Oh well need the job to get the money to buy the the stuff I want so I can't complain too much.

I'm racing on a track without a horse. I'm bull fighting in a ring without the bull. Track and Wrestling is my life.

Let me add here that the one we got last year, Zoe, has turned out to be a wonderful little mare, who is an asset to my herd. I think she's the only horse I own that I would take out on a hack with a beginner rider. She was worth every penny I spent, and it's sad to think that there are many more out there just like her.
So...for those of you thinking of going..take your trailer, you just may find a hidden gem!

I wish I could save some too, even one would be a good start. I wish that there were more horse rescue operations in Canada, there aren't any in the ottawa area, that I'm aware of.
Rescue and rehabilitate some great horses, like Zoe (from what you said waytoomanyhorses).

That's too bad they're having another auction....looks like a load of PMU's from out west.

If they're PMUs, they look to be some of the best cared PMU foals I've ever seen. I checked out the production catalogue. Breeding is decent (there are some working lines even I recognized and I'm far from being a QH pedigree expert), foals are AQHA registered, microchipped and vaccinated for Strangles, dams have been vaccinated prior to foaling (noted in a couple of the listings), etc... The foals appear to be healthy and in good weight.

If they lookt his good when they get here, there may be some good buys to be had...

RG, not all "pmu" offspring are poorly looked after. My mare is APHA registered, and she was shipped in great weight, had her Coggins, and was haltered. No Strangles Vacc, though.

All three of mine were shipped here in great condition, with their coggins, only the mare was registered. Microchipping was an option amde available at an extra cost. I opted not to do it.
They are not all in rough shape like those ones that "so and so" shipped in a few years back, which is why PMU offspring have bad reputations.

Edited to add 2 things: 1, I'd lay a bet this instant that this is a pmu operation, it's obvious when I look at the website.
2. There is nothing wrong if it is in fact a pmu operation, the foals look great, it's just too bad they have to be shipped from so far away, and too bad they were bred in the first place.Red Face( My pmu horses are fantastic, I'd recommend buying one any day!!
