I am looking forward to it. I attended last year as a spectator & it was fabulous! This year, I am bringing a mare & foal for inspection.

Ack!

Expect to start at 8:30 am? Darn, it means I need to get there the night before!

Boy, that's going to be fun, two mares, a foal and a baby!

We are located about 10 - 15 minutes from Rideauwood. Anyone coming from out of town or a long distance we can provide overnight stabling for you as we have 11 stalls but are not using them all. 2 big stalls available for mare/foals. It is critical we continue to get a good turn out for this inspection site so we do not lose it.

Contact Paul Oster at 613-284-8155 or paul.oster@caballofarm.com if we can help.

This year all presenters weree required to fill out their paperwork on line with the Oldenburg Verband before the Inspection. This change in policy greatly spend up the required admin in the morning which began on schedule at 8:30 AM, was completed by 9:15 AM, when the first mare was presented.

We were fortunate to have Sarah Schröer and Bastian Scharmann from Germany as our inspectors. Their insight and advice regarding the mares, foals, and general breeding philosophy was appreciated by all.

On this day, 6 mares were presented. All 6 were accepted to the main mare book. Risacci (Riverman/Parabol), a 2004 Oldenburg mare was chosen as top mare and was recognized as a "Mare of Distinction".

As well, 10 foals were presented of which 5 were awarded Premium. These were:
-Russia 17/06/09 Filly Coromino/Rodero/Graf Grannus
Linda Weedmark
-Rhapsody 12/06/09 Filly Rodioso/Lomber/Akatschi
Linda Sadler
-Quartermoon 20/04/09 Colt Quattro B/Rheirattack/Don Primero
Rideauwood Farm
-Forspiel 09/06/09 Filly For Compliment/Wanderbursch II/Askan
Rideauwood Farm
-Galloper 20/05/09 Colt Granulit/Adorateur xx/Wily Walter xx
Dr. Gus Stringel & Dr. Andrea Stringel

Quartermoon, Forspiel, and Galloper were recognized as "Foals of Distinction".

Forspiel, a very athletic, powerful and rythmic filly, was recognized as the top foal at the auction. We were particularily delighted to have such positive feedback regarding our choice of For Compliment as a stallion for this particular mare.

In addition, a 3 and a 5 year old gelding from Belissimo M were presented under saddle, and a 3 year old gelding from Fuerst Grandios was presented in hand. Judging by the very positive response to these presentations, I think some stallion selection decisions for next year were made on the spot!!

All in all a very successful day!!
