A new word "LAMAZING" I like it. Way to go ERIC and HICKSTEAD.
Can't wait to watch it tonight, I had to leave half way through watching the second round. But was standing listening to the news with my client after her lesson when we heard, client's poor mare nearly left the barn when we both started jumping up and done we were so excited.
What a great year of Canadian Show Jumping!

im so extremly happy for Eric and Hickstead! He has worked so hard for this medal and he should be incredibly proud of himself and his amazing horse. his courses were great and Hickstead gave an amazing effort over each jump. Congratulations on winning Gold!

Hurray for Eric. I was sitting in a restaurant downtown watching the broadcast and I started bawling like an idiot when he got his gold medal. Congrats Eric and Hickstead. (How do we get a future date with Hickstead for our mares???

well BOLD TV which is a channel you have to order through bell or rogers. Or I watched it online live steaming through CBC.

What a fantastic win! Is this the first time a horse and rider has won the biggest purse in Show Jumping and Olympic Gold within a year of each other? I agree TK's Mom...Hickstead definitely should be on the breeder's shed list!
I gave my mother the play by play via cell phone as she won't get to see it until later this evening! The Americans made me smile with their short cut to the planks! George looked like he was in his element! It's been a long time coming for Eric!

What a great ride! Eric and Hickstead have been performing so consistently that no-one can say that this medal was due to luck. They are on top of their game. Provided that Canada doesn't bring home all that many medals, these two medals for jumping will raise the profile of equestrian sports in Canada.
