Looking into trip somewhere for jumping competition(will not be participating). Would prefer in Canada. Is Spruce Meadows the place to go? If so, which event is the biggest? It is close to Calgary...is there much to do there at the same time as a large event? I checked flight packages and think Calgary is one of the most expense place to fly in Canada...L!! Budgeting around $2-3k for trip for 2, is this reasonable?
thanks for any input, |

Spruce Meadows is very close to Calgary - only around 10 minutes outside the city limits. The biggest tournament there would likely be the Masters, which I believe is normally held around the beginning of September. During the Masters Spruce Meadows also has the Equi-Plex open and filled with horse-related products, services, information. They also have the international food tents set up at that time.
As for the price, it really would depend on how long you were planning on staying, if you wanted to rent a car, the hotel, etc. |

Forget Spruce in 2010.
WEG 2010 in Lexington, Kentucky is the place to be! http://www.alltechfeigames.com/ Tickets go on sale for the biggest event in show jumping next month. |
