2009 OHTA Championships

The entries are starting to pour in for the 2009 OHTA Championships, hosted by Headwaters. Here are some things you should know:

* Lanes End on Sunday August 30 is the last qualifying show. If you qualify at Lanes End and would like to enter the OHTA Championships, please call Doug Thomson at 519-855-6586, no later than 10 AM on August 3. Provide your name, division, and horse's name so that he can accommodate you on the schedule and then express post your entry ASAP with your payment.

* If you are not sure if you have qualified, please verify with Roseanne Corbett at roseanne.corbett@gmail.com.

* Stabling is $180 for 2 nights. Stalls will be bedded with straw. Hydro, water, lights and 24 hour security are provided. If your horse is allergic to straw, please bring your own bedding. The price for the stabling is based on what it costs to rent the portable stalls, so the price is the same whether you stable for one night or two.

* All cross-country courses, Entry through Intermediate, have new jumps and tracks. There is water at all levels - optional at Entry. The stadium ring has been expanded, and the dressage rings are new.

* Dressage and Cross-Country will be run on Saturday, and stadium jumping will run on Sunday.

* Every competitor will receive 2 tickets for dinner on the Saturday night. Extra tickets are $20. Dinner includes a full course meal - vegetarian and meat - and complimentary drinks. If you look younger than 25, bring ID!

* The road into Headwaters will be closed to all traffic except for horse show vehicles. When you see the "road closed" sign, don't panic - just drive on in.
