I want to take my 09 colt to the breeder's show at Ashland, which is at the end of this month. I want to give myself plenty of time to get him looking like a little show baby Smiler Right now he's in the fugly stage - his foal fuzz is extreemly lighter than his coat underneath. Right now he almost looks like a paint (but definitely isn't). So, what's the best way to get rid of all his baby fuzz?

I've been currying him twice a day, but it doesn't seem to be moving it. A friend of mine suggested I worm him again to help (he was wormed a little over a month ago), and thought there might be a supplement I can give him? Something about 10 days to a show coat?

I wouldn't stress about it. The judge will be able to see through the molting baby fuzz. Check out the pictures from the Summerfest Show. The Champion foal was in full " Multi-coloured Foal Molt"!

You can put on a light sheet during the nights and keep the lights on in the barn for extended times. Keeping the baby warm and extending the amount of day light will help with shedding.

I wormed my baby last night, and this morning huge "tumbleweeds" of baby fuzz was coming off with very little effort from the curry comb. I was using one of the big toothed ones. It looks like worming was the trick (I used Ivermectin).
