I'm looking for suggestions on how to get the hair to grow back on a blanket rub spot.
I've added a slinky and use Show sheen on the spot, but I'm still not seeing any growth.
Do I need Rogain?

Try using MTG on the rubs. I've had great success with this product to encourage hair growth. Smells terrible but works great.

I just bought a Bossy Bib. They're supposed to be great at preventing rubs, and aiding in coat regrowth for existing rubs.

Yeah, I had one I bought from Greenhawk. I took it off a while back as the rubs were getting worse, too. The Bossy Bib is completely different in how it fits and the material. Google them and see...I got mine from this place. I ordered it and had it in my hands in only three days. Everyone who has a Bossy Bib swears by them. http://www.TrueColoursFarm.com

I have a Tb mare that I had one of those shoulder guards on. It worked this fall but when she started to put weight on it was making them worse. I have been using the Vitamin E cream on her rubs and just in the past 2 weeks I have seen a huge improvement and hair growth. I bought the Rexall brand (cheaper than the Jamieson) and it has been working really well.

My horse had a ton of cuts on his shoulder so I bought vitamin E liquid pills from shoppers. I just cut them and put them on the scars. the pills are better than the cream because they are more concentrate. The hair grew right over his scars in no time!

I never thought to use the vitamin E pills, that's a really good idea. Maybe when I run out of cream I will try it. I like the thick consistency of the cream to just lather a bunch on and let it soak in.

The great thing with the pills is how concentrated it is. You will find a little goes a long way. AND it's cheep Wink

Oh and we just bite the end off the pill...it's good for your lips too LOL

I've had a chance now to use the Bossy Bib on my thin skinned TB. Lets just say, if it became damaged, I would buy another one right away. Blanket rubs are gone!!!

Your mind before the race:
80m run
8 hurdles
34 steps
12 seconds
1 start line
1 finish line
1 gun shot
1 winner, the rest losers

Now try thinking about it when it is acually happening.

MTG has always been my best friend when a pony gets naughty in the paddock and decides to take some hair off one of the horses. I've used it on scars and Dare To Compare is right. It works wonders! It's a bit greasy but well worth it!
