Try contacting Brandon Buchan at 613-868-2246. He's very good to come out to put on a shoe.

Hey Sarah... I am now using Brandon Buchan myself. He trimmed Pinky and Benson and just put new shoes on Doc and Andy and he took great care and was sure to talk to me before and after about any concerns. Doc's new shoes were bar shoes and Brandon took the time to talk with the vet about her concerns for Doc and what she wanted to see.

Use Buchan....he is an outstanding farrier and I am very impressed with his work. Roxy's feet have never looked so good.

Matt Forrest already goes out to do some horses there. Try calling him to see if he has any availability, I spoke to him tonight and he might have time tomorrow. His number is in the QP address book.

I don't know if he is taking on new clients but you could try John Edwards (he looks after Steve Morris' cleints when he's away).

As for a previous post, regarding clips - depending upon how the horse moves and how the hoof is formed sometimes a toe clip is more suitable than side clips.

Hot shoe vs. cold can also make a difference.

John does hot shoe.

Kinda off topic but an experience we had with side clips were that when we wore side clips all the time and I was noticing my mares feet getting almost like a oval instead of a nice round hoof. We then switched to toe clips it definatly made a change her foot size and their shape.

Allan Cooley is a really good farrier we have found. Try him 613-229-8153
