April 18th and 19th 2009
Kinburn, Ottawa, ON, Canada

Yvonne Losos de Muñiz - international dressage and jump rider representing the Dominican Republic. Having successfully competed in both disciplines, Yvonne focused her skills on dressage in 2003 in order to prepare for the Pan American Games in her hometown of Santo Domingo. Her decision was rewarded with an Individual Bronze Medal and a close fourth place finish for the Team, which included two of her students. In 2007, she repeated her incredible feat, again claiming the Individual Bronze Medal.

This clinic will be held at Green Glen Farm located in the Ottawa Valley on the outskirts of Kinburn; owned and operated by Fiona Henderson. http://www.greenglenfarm.com/index.html

More about Yvonne: Having trained with Germany’s Jean Bemelmans, the successful coach of the Spanish Dressage Team, for three years, Yvonne began training with British Olympian Carl Hester in 2008. Yvonne is currently focused on qualifying for the 2010 Alltech-FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. Prior to her Pan Am medals, she also won double individual gold medals at the 2002 Central American Games in El Salvador. In addition to her championship medals, Yvonne has also obtained numerous wins at prestigious international events held in West Palm Beach, FL, the Sunshine Tour (Spain), France and Germany.

A dual citizen of the Dominican Republic and Canada, Losos de Muñiz also runs the Canadian arm of Las Marismas from Vankleek Hill, ON. The Canadian operation specializes in Dutch-bred sport horses for all disciplines. In addition, Las Marismas is a well-known producer of Andalusian horses, a historic Spanish breed, which are bred and trained at both the Canadian and Dominican Republic facilities.

Although Yvonne spends a great deal of time in the saddle, she also takes great pride in teaching students and giving clinics. She is also an active member of the International Dressage Riders Club (IRDC) and is a JustWorld Rider Ambassador.
