My sister is moving to this area and is looking to find a new dressage partner. Can you recommend any good sales barns in the area where she could start window shopping?
Thanks |

There are a couple of different barns, e-mail me at corker.mb@forces.gc.ca and I will give you some names depending on your price range. I have one for sale though that is going inexpensively because he is a project I don't need. He is a registered quarter horse, bought for my new western program. He just turned 4 and is about 15.1 hh high, bright bay. I didn't pay much attention to him (I am the english person) until the western trainer said she was having trouble getting his head set. I watched him go and immediately took him out of the western program. He naturally overtracks at the walk, both on contact and on a long rein (Can you say "9"-easily). His trot is full of suspension and floaty and his canter is is uphill. He is quiet and has been ridden by students. He is not the brightest horse in the barn and is just learning that people are the source of all goodness. He has only being going for about 2 months and then just had a month off as his feet were trimmed way too short. I am hoping to get back at him after the long weekend. He goes in a snaffle. I have had some students jump him too and once he got the hang of what you wanted him to do, he was fabulous. I have never actually seen a horse just elevate his canter to go over a 2'6" jump. It looked like he didn't jump at all.
You can reach me at that e-mail for him too. Let me know how far does she wants to travel from the Ottawa area. |
