The love of a horse, freely given, is a profound blessing.

I am looking for a new place to ride with my 12 yr.-old daughter and her friend. I would like to start learning dressage and the girls would like to stick with jumping.
Is there a lesson barn in the East end, preferably, that could accommodate such a request?
(We are willing to go West if need be, definitely less than 1 hour of travel!)
Thank you for your help and suggestions!

Not sure if it'll be too far but you could try Alingsview Stables - Nicole would probably be able to accommodate both styles.

I'd certainly recommend Levesque stables the're lots of girls your daughters age, it's a very fun, friendly, family oriented barn. They are very versitile, they also offer lessons and have school horses availible.

Their is also DB farm, great place! They don't have a coach on proprety but you can bring in a coach and their is also some that already teach that would be glad to have more students. Only thing is they have a big waiting list.

Hope this helps!

I would strongly recommend Twin Pines Equestrian Center. They are located just outside Russell, On. They have a great riding school program that offers both dressage and jumping lessons. Contact them at 613-821-0234 if interested.

You are right - Queenswood doesn't offer lessons anymore.
DB can't take us, Alingsview is too far, though sounded perfect - sigh!
Centaur times don't work for us.
Going to check out Twin Pines on the w/e,
am waiting for Silke to get back from her honeymoon - Congrats Silke! Yes we do want to come out and see you!
Haven't tried Levesque yet - where is Cheney, by the way?
If anyone has anymore ideas - I am happy to listen!
Thanks so much for your help so far, I really appreciate it.

Pinecrest Farm offers exactly what you're looking for. I'm not sure though if it's within the 1 hour driving limit.

Worth checking out.

Blackcreek Stables in Kemptville is great, though might be too far, depending how east you are. Give the trainer a call at the barn, 613-258-2512 ask for Darlene.

I don't think that Darleen at Blackcreek does dressage...

Levesque stables, in Cheney, is off Russell road. If you are coming from Orleans you could take Frank Kenny to Russell rd (4 way stop) turn left and go through 2 more stop signs (you're still on Russell rd) and you'll see the sign for the town of Cheney. Keep going and you'll see a flashing yellow light at an intersection. Turn left on that road (where the flashing light is) and you will see the stable on the right not far after turning. I'd say that from the intersection of Frank Kenny and Russell rd, you're looking at about 10 minutes to get there if there is no traffic.

Hope this helps!
